CV04N Trex Search window not appearing,

Dear SAP Gurus,

Iam unable to activate the CV04N Trex search Window in CV04N transaction, i have tried doing the config in SPRO

and under Transaction SKPR07, Document class which is DMS_PCD1, and document area = DMS,

but iam unable to get the Trex search Window Activated in CV04N, ( the window which appears at the bottom asking to enter a "Text" based on which the document search would take place,

any hint on how to bring this Window,

Hi Kumar,

maybe the information in the attachment could be useful for you to set up the TREX search correctly. Please note that this are just some hints for activating the fulltext search.

That's really very strange. Because I again tried to download and open. File is blank for me.

By the way, I have one more question regarding attachment. How do you attach files in the forum threads?

I asked this question in the sticky thread, [Use of e-mail addresses in the forum|; but I didn't get answer.

Hello Christoph,

Thanks for your Document sharing, the document Opens up but it is a Blank document,

I have checked most of the config setting from my Side, like SKPR07, SM59, SRMO, DC30,

but unfortunately the Trex Search Window which should appear in CV04N Transaction could not be Activated,

Once i get this window for TREX Text Searching in CV04N, then i could check if my Text Trex Search really works fine or not.

Dear all,

Any idea how can i activate Trex Search Window in CV04N,

pls let me know just why my CV04N transaction does not have Trex text window active, it is right now grayed out, how can i activate it.

i have done this Window activation some time back in one my client,but but i could not remember how i did it,

will this search by Trex if gets activated and working, will it search the Documents by File name of the original documents also?

Hi Kumar,

Try to open the Document sent by Christoph again...And its a help ful document.I could open it from here.

And for the CV04N TREX Engine to be activated ,Check the Following points in order:

1)-- The RFC Connection to TREX should work.All your further configurations will depend on this RFC connection.

2)-- Execute "TREXADMIN" and check the connection to search engine.

3)-- Then click on the Button "TREX ABAP CUSTOMIZING" and check for the connectivity of your trex server.

4)-- Execute SKPR06 and select/activate your Document Area.

5)-- Execute "ses_admin" and create indeces.

Now Execute "cv04n" and you shud see your CV04n activated.

I know TREX can search and list the documents using any Word or Characters inside the original file, but i have a requirement to search the document by there File Names,even i tried giving File names in CV04N Trex search window, but it is not giving any results for me,

how can i make the trex search consider the file names also while searching in CV04N,

In SAP DMS is there a standard search functionality to search the documents by there File name?
