Hi All,
I have a requirement from the customer and I am not able to get to the solution of it. Requirement is stated below:
My Client sells laptops. Customer knocks at the client's door asking for an core i7 Laptop. Customer shows him one with configuration 1 TB HDD and 4 GB RAM but customer wants 2 TB HDD and 8 GB RAM. He doesn't have an I7 Laptop with asked configuration thus client at the instant opens the Laptop and changes both these things because he had 2 TB HDD and 8 GB RAM as Raw Material in stock.
So after changing both of these components GR is done for an I7 laptop (with HDD 2 TB and 8 GB RAM) in FG Storage Location and 1 TB HDD, 4 GB RAM in RM Storage Location. Again when billing is done it should add costs of added products but reduce costs of removed products.
Just to make it clear this is just one example. There could be N number of Permutation and Combination. Customer wants with 1 GB RAM and 500 GB HDD or RAM remains same but HDD needs to be changed and vice versa.
If someone has any solution, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Variant Configuration is useful if you have a large number of combination of parts that go into a product. It means different permutations and combinations of the parts for same material.
You may refer this useful document,
