Dear

1) ESI amount is calculated based on Basic salary or Gross Salary.

2) If an employee is absent for 10 days in a month, just like Basic salary and allowances get pro-rated,

Tell me even the ESI amount also will be Prorated or not.

Thanks & Regards

Vish

hi

I tried in my development server.

It is not getting calculated as you have said.

Its calculating on his Whole gross amount.

I have another doubt

If an employee gets an incentive in a month, the ESI amount is also getting calculated on basic + incentive.

Calculation of ESI on incentive have to be done or not.

Hi,

ESI will get calculated on the gross amount only.. not on basic sal..

Yes, even incentives will form a part of ESI calculation cos Incentives will get added to Gross.. right..

Hi,

ESI Basis is depend upon what ever wage type you marked for ESI cumulation class.

it will calculate based on Actual ESI basis /3EA, generally all earning is constituted as ESI basis
