Change size category when there is data

Is it possible to change the size category from technical settings of a table if there is data in the table?

Want to be able to change size category from 7 to 8, for example.

Would this generally help in increasing table size?

Will increasing the size of the table have to be done at the data base level also?

There are more records than the specified size category.

If you check some very large SAP tables, you will find some that have rather small size categories.

I don't know of any reason to change the category.
