Sales BOM: Quantity correlation for 001

When creating a delivery for a sales BOM material assigned to delivery group, I'm getting a partial quantity.

Example is sales BOM material A requires 4 EA of subitem B. Order created for 1 EA of material A, which requires 4 EA subitem B but there are only 2 EA of B in stock. The corresponding delivery is created with a quantity of .5 for material A. I get the following message in the delivery log:

"Quantity correlation for 001 from sls.order 0004831194 for deliv.item 000010"

I'm expecting the quantity to be 1 on the sales order. Any help is appreciated.

My question is why would you expect the quantity of A to be 1?

Since the quantities are correlated, meaning that for 1 A you attach 4 B, if you can only send 2 B (because lack of stock) the system recommends that you only send 0.5 A.

If you want to bypass this logic, I think that you can deactivate ATP check in the SO and delivery, and then just rectify manually whatever delivery items quantities that cannot be delivered in full due to lack of stock.

I agree that .5 is a reasonable result, given only half of the component is available. The issue I have is the items are assigned to a delivery group. I'm expecting the entire delivery group to delivery, not half. Is that an incorrect assumption?
