To avoid the usage of blocked stock from Unrestricted use by sales people

Hi QM Experts

When the material is rejected in quality, it goes to blocked stock. For rework/repacking of that material, the stock has to move to unrestricted use. My doubt here is how can I restrict the usage of this rejected stock from sales people from unrestricted use. Please clarify.

You don't. The changing of the batch status or moving from blocked to UR must be carefully controlled and should only be done when production is ready to actually select the material for consumption into the order. And I mean ready.. as in sitting at the terminal with the order open and ready to do it.

You should consider using batch status for these batches as well. If the batch is marked as restricted, saled people should not be able to select it. But production people are allowed to select it for rework. If you only have a portion of a batch in blocked stock, you may need to segregate that as a new batch. Some clients have done that by either adding an "R" to the begining or end of a batch. I.e. a bad portion of batch 479389 is moved into batch R-479389 or 479389R. Or some other special agreed upon designation. That way relabelling can usually be avoided.
