DIR Attchement Check out

Dear Gurus

We are using Content Repository for storing various types of attachment for Documnet Info Record. Once I did the check in process, system saves the document . Now I want to do Check out of previously saved document as part of business proces.

can some one tell us how to do Checj out of documeht form DIR as I tried from DIR Originals-->Reset Check out function, getting message "Function Not active"

Any pointer or IMG setting mising for document Types level

Kindly guide

1. Reset check in is to reset the checkout status of a document which was checked out and accidentally deleted. Not applicable in this case.

2. You check out a document by clicking on the pencil in the originals area. If it doesn't work, its probably a locked status and you need to create a new version to do this.

3. IMO, you really should NOT be playing with IMG settings of SAP DMS in a customer's system if you don't even understand the basic functionality of DMS and how to check in/check out a document.
