empty LOV on webi

Hi there,

I created an OLAP universe on bw query, and created a webi on that universe. LOVs of all variables are empty, while executing on BEx web anlyzer, variable value candidates are not empty. Any insight?

The env is BOE XI 3.1 SP2 + BW 7.0018

Thanks,

Chris

Hi,

what type of variables are those ? Are they optional ?

@Stratos: with "delegated search" disabled, the list is empty; with "delegated search" enabled, no results return for a valid search pattern. The LOVs have less than 100 values, typically 20 to 80.

@Ingo: Those variables are of type "Characteristic value", processing by "Manual input/default value", represents "Single value", "Interval" or "selection options", and some of them are mandatory while rest are optional. Since there're mandatory variable with empty LOV, the query cannot be executed in webi.

And if I drag the characteristic(dimension) into the webi filter panel, the LOV is also empty.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi,

for a mandatory variable the list of values gets loaded - unless you set delegated search -.

Is the Universe configured with a fixed user or are you using SSO ?

I used fixed username and password.

did you activate the setting for "delegated search" ?

When "delegated search" disabled, the LOV is empty; when "delegated search" enabled, the search result is empty (with valid pattern).

Hi,

could you enable the trace :

Tracing:

Unix : Note 1235111

Windows : Note 1260004

and run throught a fresh workflow of creating a new Web Intellignce document based on the Universe ?

and then post a link to the logfiles for download here ?

thanks

The log can be accessed here: [http://docs.google.com/View?id=df5vmbzz_24g9bjz7fv]

As I followed the notes, enable item #2 and #19 for SAP IK, only MDA.log get generated (as above), the mdx_sap_query.log didn't show up.

Thanks,

Chris

hi Chris,

in the logfile you can see the following:

: MDDataProviderBW.GetMembers(Cat=ZBKG_S19,Cube=ZBKG_S19/ZBKG_S19_Q0001,Dim=[0MATERIAL__ZPRDFM],Hry[0MATERIAL__ZPRDFM],Lvl=[0MATERIAL__ZPRDFM].[LEVEL01],Mem=,OpCode=,PropFlag= )

Thu Jan 07 11:30:05.314: SAPMODULE: FIS: MDDataProviderBW.GetMembers(StartRow=0,EndRow=499)

Thu Jan 07 11:30:06.314: SAPMODULE: FIS: RFC function call MDDataProviderBW.GetMembers returned S

Thu Jan 07 11:30:06.314: SAPMODULE: FIS: Call to MDDataProviderBW.GetMembers took 1.000 seconds

Thu Jan 07 11:30:06.314: SAPMODULE: FIS: Got 0 membe

is your variable based on this navigation attribute ?

if so could you do the following:

- go to transaction se38

- start program BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_MEMBERS

- enter the values as shown above

- hit F8

Chris,

try refreshing the universe structure once. I had the same problem after customizing the universe. Even if it doesn't change anything, export it again and test it.

Hi

is the "Delegated search" option activated in the Properties of your universe objects? How many values do you expect to see in the LOV?
