Hi all,
We would like to know few interesting facts about DSO
1. What is the recommended size of a DSO or Cube in BW ?
2. Can we store 1 TB data in a DSO in BW system (in non-HANA DB)
3. Can we store 10 to 15 years of data (line item level not summarized) in a DSO in BW system? Is reporting on top of this DSO is recommended?
Thanks for all in advance.
Regards,
BI Team.
Hi Maintenance IBM India,
not sure about the nature of this question. It heavily depends on your system resources, the options your database can handle, how much reporting is done on top of that DSO etc. If there is no column based data structures in the database, the size of the DSO should be rather small for reporting access or InfoCubes should be used. Then you can fine tune the reporting performance by proper pruning strategies in your data modeling. See for more background information the SAP Community Wiki: Improving Query Performance by Pruning.
Cheers,
Nora
