Hai
When i am doing a resignation or leaving action for an employee on today's date, he is an active employee till the end of the day.tomorrow onwards he should be considered as Inactive emp.
any config setting is to be done so as to maintain like i can give todays date as the start date of resignation action but still it should considered as active on the start date and the next date onwards inactive,

Hi
This can be control only by Table T529A with date control column. I am agreed with sikinder Bhai.

hi
if we keep it as "1" it says like Specified date is end date for old records.
what does it mean?
can u explain pls..

This means the last day of active period.
Thus the date you specify in PA40 is the end date for active period and inactive period starts the next day onwards.
If you use the field blank, then the date you enter in PA40 is the start date of the inactive period and active period finishes as of the previous day.

Hi Sikander and others, my requirement is similar to his with a little variation.
Actually when i check the t-code pc00_m40_term, there is a column for notice date and the relieving date.
Suppose i give it 01.12.2011 to 15.12.2011 for a particular employee.
Then i check pa0000, under action type 01, the ending date is 15.12.2011. Now this is the relieving date.
But where is this notice date stored???? that is 01.12.2011.
Actually i want to calculate the notice period days , so that will be 30 - (15.12.2011 - 01.12.2011), so please help me out.

Hi,
Please follow what our Guru Sikindar suggested.
Make the date control field empty in T529A table for leaving action, and you'll got it!

Thanks Navya For Responding.
Date specification is an infotype where we can just store some date as a remanider or for any reference..
but my req is that, start date of resig action should be active for that emp.
or entering the next date is the best practice..?

Hi,
You will be able to input the start date from which, employee is going to be inactive while, doing the personnel action, leaving. Try to store the resignation date in date specification infotype 0041. If, you don't find a column for resignation date in infotype 0041, you can do configuration changes sothat, you can include column for this in IT 0041. Experts can correct me..
