Batch management flag

Hi all,

I am trying ti set the "Batch Management" flag in material master for some materials, but i get the error "Batch management requirement cannot be set" and cannot set the flag. Does anyone know a way to bypass this error?

as already written in the document:

These programs should be applied with in preview of the following SAP notes

Note 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement indicator

Note 533383- Deselecting the batch management requirement indicator

if you read OSS note 533276, then you can read this:

We have developed the main features of this report, but it must be adjusted to individual business processes in a customer project that is subject to charges.
If you require further information about functions of this tool or about running such a customer project, you can send an e-mail to the consulting department.

Means you get the reports from SAP by requesting it with an email (email adress in the OSS note) and paying for it.

Hi

You will have to follow the below steps

1. Mark all the open documents such as Purchase order, Sales order, Process order etc for deletion

2. Remove the stock in current and previous periods

After completing the two steps you can activate the batch managements and add the stock once again.

dont even try to by-pass. you will end up with errors all over the places in SAP.

the only by-pass would be to create a new material master.

but lets start from the beginning. when you try to change the batch management indicator then you get a message. You did not post the full content of the message, as the message tells you that you should loook into the log.

The log can be found by clicking the new button that just appeared together with this error in MM02.

This log will tell you why you cannot set the flag.

Then you may have to set a deletion flag for the listed documents first.

Hi,

If you have any document against that material you will not be able to manage it batch wise.

Delete all related documents like SO,PO, prod Order ,BOM

Then only you can set it batch managed
