We have gone live with Personas 3.0 and are attempting to setup a printer to be able to print from the WEB GUI.
Currently our users are using the Print Preview function and printing from there. However, they would like to be able to use direct printing (even if it opens the Adobe viewer in a separate window). I have setup the printer as PDF1 and access method F.
When we print directly (default printer is set to the new one and print immediately), it saves the document and exits (standard backend behavior when printing a work order) and when I would expect the adobe viewer to open, nothing happens. If I go to look at the spool request in SP01 it shows the request as complete.
Can anyone shed some light on printing directly for the HTML GUI? I have followed the note for our BASIS patch level and am getting the above behaviour.
Thanks,
Andrew Mcgrath
Hi Andrew,
Please check whether you have SAP note 2159422 implemented. Be sure to have all the configuration performed.
If the issue persists, then this probably is a BC-CCM-PRN-PC issue.
Kind regards,
Cris

Hello Andrew,
once you close the "Browser Tab" that has the Adobe view - when you return to the previous Personas Screen that generated the
document, is it that any action on this Personas browser screen leads to a session timeout? Can a screenshot of this screen be shared?

Oisin

Hi Cristiano,
I have implemented the note and ensured the prerequisite notes were completed as well. I believe that it is working for the most part as when I run reports in the Web GUI, I can now see the percentage completed in the status bar.
The issue I am having is that when printing, it opens SP01 in a new tab (instead of Adobe view, which I have installed in IE11), and it logs me out of the previous session from which I printed.
Any advice? I have put in a incident, but am waiting to hear back.
Thanks,
Andrew

Thanks Cristiano, this looks promising. I will reply here when it works!
