Price Control Change Material Master

Hi Friends,

I need to change the Price control of some materials, while doing so, System is issuing the following message.

Price control cannot be changed (cost component split exists)

Message no. M3160

Diagnosis

Costing is active and has already been carried out for the current period. You can only change the price control to "Standard" if the moving average price and the standard price are identical.

I have check to run the material code in CKMM; by entering material code, Old Price Determination = 3, New Price Determination = 2 and New Price Control = S. But system is issuing the message that no material selected, check the entries.

Can you please tell me the solution how can I change the price control of materials.

Hi,

You may carry out the following steps:

1. If std cost is released.. you may have to execute CKR1 (if original price control is S)

2. Thereafter maintain Std Price = MAP in MM02.

3. Then change the Price control.

4. Thereafter you may again execute CK11N if the resulant price control is S

Hi,

The Price control is V, and I need to change it to S. I am not able to change Standard Price(step # 2) in MM02, Ssytem is issuing the message.

Diagnosis

A standard cost estimate has been entered in the material master record for the specified period. This can be a current or future estimate.

Note:

The category of this message can be changed in Customizing for Invoice Verification. This means that you can receive a message as an error message even though it is defined as a warning message in the standard system.

The following documentation deals with the case applicable to the standard system only.

System Response

You cannot manually change prices.

Procedure

1. To update the price determined using a standard cost estimate in the material master and activate the price for material valuation, you have to mark and release the standard cost estimate.

2. If you have authorization for Customizing, in Customizing for Product Cost Planning, you can define this message as only a warning or information message for certain users. These users can then change the price manually.

Hi,

You can change the standard price by using T-code-MR21- Material Price change manually.

For changing the Price Control, only if Material Ledger is activated you have to use T-code-CKMM. Otherwise you can use MM02 to change the price control in Material Master.
