Unit of Measure field Disappear in Basic data 1

Hi folks!!

I am facing a starnge problem.

In Material Master Basic Data1 tab, Unit of Measure filed is not appearing, I have checked Field selection config, there in field selection group , MARA-MEINS for material type and T.Code MM01 this field is set to optional. This shows that this field should appear in MM01 Basic data1 Tab.

Please advice, how can I make this field available in Basic Data1 Tab for input.

Hi

Will giver you some information which i have regarding the field MARA-MEINS in mm01

Before release SAPKH47019,if you don't enter additional data which

belong to that base unit of measure (for example EAN number or weight)

there will be no MARM-entry for that base unit of measure. This is

intentional and is also working as designed for release before 470.

Actually it is not necessary to have that entry. Our SAP standard

programs don't rely on having a MARM entry with the base unit of measure

but if you want to use that entry for your own ABAP/4 program in this

way that it reads table MARA and looks for whether there is a MARM entry

for MARA-MEINS,I think you could consider using MARA-MEINS directly.

Possible workaround:

a) using MARA-MEINS directly

b) Enter in Material master: MM01 or Mm02

-> Basic Data 1 view

-> additional data

-> Unit or measures

C) This data can be maintaned at field "Weight Unit" too.

-> Basic Data 1 view

-> Dimensions/EAN

-> Weight Unit: KG

Hi Parvez,

Got the solution to make the enable field of "Base Unit f Measure" in MM01 Basic Data 1 Tab.

TO resolve this issue you have to do these following steps -

SPRO>IMG>Logistic-General>Material Master> Field Selection>Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups -

Click on the Field Selection Maintenance Button

Click on the details Button.

Check all the selection group and make sure you didn't check Field selection as Hide for any selection group.

After making these changes the Base Unit of Measurement will be enable in MM01 for "Basic Data 1" Tab.

Hi,

Field selection also depend on the industry sector check the field selection in industry sector as well as in the attributes of material type.

I have checked the possiblities.

This filed is not available in any tab, like Basic Data1, Purchasing. Is there any other possiblity.
