Reporting on Data Slices?

Dear Team,

We have developed Data Slices on the Planning Cubes with the variables--Fiscal Year, Version, Controlling Area, Company Code.

Planning Administrator prefers a report that provides details of Company Code(s) for which the Data Slices are activated.

Tables that get updated with Data Slices do not carry such detailed info. Is there a way we can report on? We are on BW 3.5

Hi.

If your data slice restricted by variable you cannot create such report with concret values.

But if you restricted, lets say 0CALMON hard coded 01.2009, you can see it in RSPLS_DS_RANGE table.

Im not sure about 3.5 but in 7 this work such way.

Hi

You can use a planning variable with fixed values in data slice to restrict the Company Code. Variable values for company code variable can be then read from table upc_var_cha_sel.

Dear Deepti,

Thanks for the info.

We have more than handful of company codes and at any point in time the the table holds only one default value per user.

The requirement is to report on already locked company codes so as to enable the planning administrator to apply data slices on the remaining.

Let me know your observations.

Hi,

This table UPC_VAR_CHA_SEL holds all the variable values that you have defined in BPS0.

Check for user &ALL, planning area and your planning variable, you would be able to see all the values of that variable.

In our system it is like that only.
