Hallo dear all,
i have now problem with the password of TMSADM. The old TMSADM password wasn't avaible (forgot!). I gave it a new password (in 'SU01'), and now I have connection problem with the other two systems in the same TMS domain - no TMS configuration can be distributed... Since the RFC destinations (for example the destination for the test system TMSADM (at) T50.DOMAIN_E50) were generated, it seems i can't change the password of TMSADM in the "Logon & Security".
System information: ECC 6.0
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Ying
Hi Ying,
Goto STMS -> Overview -> Systems -> Extras > Reset User TMSADM.
Then in Extras -> Generate RFC Destinations.
This should change the TMSADM in RFC Connections.
Please revert with results.

Hi Ying,
As TMSADM is a system user, the system itself will assign the password when you reset it. Please refer below link.

Hi Raghu,
that was my question.
I have tried changing TMSADM's password in client 000 in the TMS domain controller. The connections to the systems were lost. Even if i regenerated the RFC Destinations, the system told me always "error user ... password..."
But after reset the TMSADM just as you mentioned before, the connections were rebulit and the TMS works.
So, if TMSADM's password is changed manually, how can it be productive?
Regards,
Ying
Hi Ying,
Sorry, I think the statement which i gave is a bit confusing.
Though you can change the password of TMSADM from su01 in client 000, i think it will not affect the RFC destinations.
I am not quite sure of how this happens. But i have seen blogs which say that if you have any issue with TMSADM passwords, then you need to reset it and not change the password through su01.
I will do a bit more research on this and get back to you.
Well in the mean time, you can try resetting the password in su01, then delete and regenerate the RFC destinations. If this works, then you know the password of TMSADM. I think there are password restrictions for TMSADM user.
If it does not work, then repeat the steps as i have given in first post.
What is the version of SAP, patch level, and the TMSADM user type ?

Raghu
Hi Raghu,
your words are helpful:)
"... But i have seen blogs which say that if you have any issue with TMSADM passwords, then you need to reset it and not change the password through su01..." I confirm it, because i have tried the method as what you mentioned:
".... you can try resetting the password in su01, then delete and regenerate the RFC destinations. ..."
It didn't work. So i used the steps as you wrote in the first post. And it worked just as I answered you and Ruchit.
The SAP version is ERP 2006 (Kernel release 700, support pkg. level 221) with software domponent patch level:
SAP_ABA release 700 patch level 20
SAP_BASIS release 700 patch level 20
And the TMSADM user type ist communication.
Thanks a lot!

Ying
Hello dear all,
the connections to the systems in the TMS domain were rebuilt. Thanks a lot!
But how can i figure out, what is the password of the user TMSADM?
Best regards,
Ying

Hello Ying,
Just try deleting the RFC destination and then recreate it using regeneration. The RFC destiniation deletion option is available in stms itself.
