Adding a new client to CUA

Hi,

I have created a new client ie: (ECQ280) for for Quality environment. I need to add this new client to our existing CUA landscape so that i use do centreal user administrarion for this new client. Please provide me the steps to do this. Please take a note that I already CUA implement and it is working fine, I just need to add this new client ECQ280 to the CUA. Thanks!

Hi Thareq,

Adding a client to a CUA involves below steps:

1 - Defining a logical system name (TCODE:SALE /BD54)

2 - Setting up RFCs between the child and the CUA system.

3 - Testing the aboveRFC connection.

4 - Creating user groups which are existing in child system(ECQ280) to your CUA system.

Once all the above 4 steps are done, you need to go to SCUA(tcode) and add the entry(logical name of ECQ280). Click on save this will connect the child system to your CUA. Now migrate the company address and the users through (SCUG).Refer to the below help link for more details:

What's wrong with Akshay's help provided so far?

If you want someone else to do all the step-by-step work for you, then they should also be able to bill you for it (or bill your customer directly as you will no longer be needed)!

If you did a simple search you will also find information in the SDN wiki, or do you want someone to do a search for you?

Please reconsider your question and response...

Hi,

This is my first time adding the child system to the CUA. That's why i asked for a little more details. I was not expecting some one to do this for me. Julius Bussche could have responded back nicely, instead of being very rude. Anyhow, I will look into this process and let you know where i get stuck. Thanks!

Are you sure? (take a look at your 2nd post after Akshay's attempts to help you!)

I found your response to Akshay rude first.

Anyway, what more do you need than that and using the search (via which you will easily find detail steps for this in the SDN wiki)?

Or have you been waiting the past 8 days for us to search further for you?

These are "expert forums" not a kindergarten. It is expected that you ask appropriate questions and follow up on them with details of where you get stuck yourself if you want to do it yourself. We don't have access to your system and cannot hold your hand when you click into the unknown....

The other option is to hire a consultant who does know how to do this (and has used the search to keep up-to-date) or, start your own website to ask members to do a basic search for you.

Just being honest...

Please read Akshay's answers and the wiki and then reconsider the widsom of your question and your response.

Julius is absolutely right.

We would love to help you any time, but its you who have to make a move and implement things. We have also referred sdn/help.sap while we were configurng/troubleshooting CUA, every one do it. Step by step procedure is already available on these forums. Please make a move, if you are stuck with any step then do let us know.

Hi Thareq,

Here are some instruction to add a newly created client in existing CUA system with example. You should make sure that you have followed all steps correctly. Missing a single step results CUA non-functional for child system.

Suppose Newly created client is ABC100 and CUA is XYZ100

1- Create logical systems in Transaction BD54 in both systems ABC100 and in CUA XYZ100 as well. As this is cross client table, you need to create workbench request for same to save the entry of logical system.

Imp : Make sure that u have created logical system in both systems.

2- Make the entry of logical system in Transaction SCC4 for child system ABC100.

3- Create RFC communication user in newly created client ABC100 and check the same in CUA XYZ100 as well. Important: RFC user should have proper right or authorization for communication.

4- Create to and fro RFC from child to CUA and from CUA to child system. Do authorization test for RFC created.

Now follow below steps in CUA system only.

5- Go to CUA XYZ100 system.

6- Run transaction SCUA in change mode.

7- Make the entry of Logical system created in Receipent TAB under SCUA transaction. (It will take few minutes).

8 - After that go to transaction SCUG to transfer user and company addres.

Now your child system is ready for administration under CUA system.

Run SCUA in child system. you will see the model view of CUA system.

Let us know with error message if you are failing in any step.

Thank you very much for your response. I got to 8 of the process and have a few questions. For transfer user and company address

Step 8 - After that go to transaction SCUG to transfer user and company addres.

Question 1 8A - Company Address: Do I select Distribute Syncronized company address to target systems or syncronize company address to the central system?

Questiopn 2 8B - Users - What should I be selecting?

Please follow the instrcution in guide given by akshay in above post. You need to synchronize the company address to target system and for transaferring users follow the instruction given under section Transferring Users from New Systems in link given by akshay.

In case of role visibility in CUA run the Text comparison comparison for child system 220. Run and check again. If the problem is with IDOC transfer. Check cua log for particular user in t.code SCUL and check why it's stucking. And also you can check the idoc in WE02 for Logical Message Type USERCLONE and in partner select the specific cild system.
