User field - create index

Hi All,

I have a question about Create Index while adding new user field. I searched forum but didn't find answers.

Does Anybody could tell me what exactly is this for?

What it changes if I check my field as Index?

HI,

in 2007 version the UDF alpanumeric types and defined as Nvarchar(max) in database levels. For this type (unlimited lenght) you are not able to define index in SQL .

Use Keys to use indexes, but do not forget to uncheck the Unique property!

Hi,

Index of udf just create some constraints. It won't create physical db index on this fied.

If you would like to create db index for udf, please use

User-Defined Fields-Management -> Keys
