ByDesign : How to assign Region to a Sales Employee

Hello Experts,

We want to categories reports Region wise.

Reports such as Sales Order Volume, Invoice Volume, Complaints etc.

We categories region by Sales employee (& not by geographical area of customer) .

I tried creating extension field in employee master but unable to find relevant Extension scenario / Data sources / Report.

Hi Vishal.
Actually there are no mapping of field based on the location of the same. Sometimes, the extension fiels will not get necessary Context to be added in respective Data Source.

Employee Master Data is very good example of this, I have been processing many incidents and created the field in different areas of Employee Screen, However, the context has never matched. My advice in this case, is to add new context in the Master Data linked with possibilities of mapping that are located in "employee screen", what only development is able to tell all possibilities. It should be done via Influence page, which is official channel to ask for development to add standard features (https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/campaign/896).


As per the fact you are not able to create an extension field on Employee screen, maybe I misunderstood or maybe you meant you are not able to create it in accord to the Master data, if that is the case I do understand. But if the case here is that you are not able to create any extension field in this area (employee screen), I would advise to create an incident informing this to be checked by application, sounds wrong, since I have already created many extension fields in this area e.g email related, region, etc.

I hope you are going well.

Where have you created the extension field?
The extension fields will get the Access Context depending the area where it is being created, to be able to use a extension field on Employee Master Data Data Source, this extension field must match with Access Context of this Data Source.

Hi,

I tried creating extension field on Employee but nowhere I could create (system don't allow to do so)

Also not aware of mapping of field with location set in employee master.

Can you suggest?
