Hierarchy of marketing areas in SAP Marketing?

Hi,

I wonder if we can group marketing areas in a hierarchical way? For example, let's assume you have a mult-organizational client who have areas as continents and sub-areas as some combination of countries based on their location (east, west, north etc).

Could we have structure them in a way as marketing areas so that areas will include interaction contact data and interaction data which have their sub-areas assigned in addition to the ones which have areas themselves assigned?

Thanks in advance

Hi Hakan,

I'm not certain about this but have you considered using the BADI Allowed Marketing Areas (details here:

for your purpose?

Best regards,

Joan

Thank you for your answers. Kindly refer to my previous reply about the custom logic option.

Hi Maik,

This custom logic option (enhancement) could meet our requirement however it's restricted to following marketing objects:

"Campaign, campaign content, offer, target group, digital account, marketing location, coupon, communication category, and Marketing engagement"

By the way, what does "Marketing Engagement" include as business objects?

Hi Maik,

Thanks for your reply.

If I get it right, the user who needs to run a campaign as well as to see the contacts of the campaign should have authorization for following marketing areas: "Cross", "Mkt Area A", "Mkt Area B" and "Mkt Area C".

If this is the case, I don't see any benefit in it, especially for my case.

Hi Hakan,

I'm not aware of a hierarchy for marketing areas. But please see in the screen below a way how to somehow simulate/ model hierarchies.

Hi Hakan,

Perhaps the following might be of interest to you:

Using A Related Marketing Area

But please be advised that this requires custom coding and will only help you in the case of marketing area check in campaign execution. Not sure if this is part of what you are looking for.
