Will changing Data Element of a Field effect IDoc/ segment Version?

Hi All,

I've the following scenario.

We're using std Invoice IDoc Type INVOIC02 and we also have a Extension ZINVOIC02.

We've identified one of the unused Z fields from extension ZINVOIC02-segment and plan to use it.

However, the current description of the field is irrelevant. And, this IDoc is used globally by several Sales Areas/countries.

If I change the data element related to the field--will it result in a new version for the segment or the IDoc?

Hello,

There are two ways of doing it. If your Z segment is already released then any kind of modification needs to go into a new version as it will not allow you to modify anything.

Or else, you have to cancel the release of the segment and make your changes again.
