What are the pros and cons of a big data solution based on SAP BW-BW/4HANA with NLS using IQ vs a big data solution based on Hadoop framework? The Hadoop framework can include or exclude Vora.

Hi Mel,

I am not an expert on this but I would think that Hadoop gives you more flexibility in choosing the underlying hardware/cloud for storage.
If you have Hadoop already in your organisation then it would probably make sense to use that for cold storage in BW/4HANA as well.

Hadoop might be a preferred option for those people in your organisation using "self service" analytics (the data scientists, machine learning and so on).

If you do not have Hadoop and not planning to use this in your organisation in the foreseeable future then IQ is probably a better option as you probably have the skillset in house to set up and manage IQ - and you don't need to learn Hadoop specific skills.
