Run SAP BW Job on SAP ECC6 (not HANA) on selected server

I have App server in 2 site for load balance (site A, site B but DB server in site A)

When run SAP BW Job on site A of SAP ECC, Job run normal time.

When run SAP BW Job on site B of SAP ECC, Job run very long time.

My question:

1. Can I config SAP BW Job on SAP ECC run in site A Server?? And when site A of SAP ECC down, SAP BW Job on SAP ECC changed run on site B server automatic.

or Please advice other solution for this case.

Hello,

I am from BW Extractors team so I will provide you some hints with this point of view.

Yes you can distribute jobs among servers to balance your workload.

You need to set a server group in order to have the system using it to schedule the extraction job. If you do not have, it will use the server specified in table ROIDOCPRMS.

In order to do that, you need to have note 1488762 implemented in your system and follow the steps of this SAP KBA: 2535441.

For your second question though, I am not qualified to answer. In your case, I would test it in a test system - put a server down and check it out what happens. I don't believe there is a routing, so its likely that there is a way to do it.. let me know the results of the above and I can try find out the answer for this 2nd question 🙂
