Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if there is a way that you can change SAP so that it picks the raw materials by batch number instead of reciept date to be used in a production run, at the company I work for we use part of the raw material but then send back to stores, the raw material will go to the back of the list for picking (picking uses FIFO on reciept date), but if SAP looks at batch number it will be picked first again, is this possible?
Kind reagrds

this requirement can be achieved with batch search strategy. of course your batches need classification for batch determination.

Hi,
I'd think that it is possible. Look at the batch determination strategy in your system, and change it accordingly.

Thanks for the reply, I have been investigating the configuration of strategy types, search strategies and a search procedure, I think i have got my head around this, I'm a little puzzled how this fits in with material starging on GR date not batch number , In SD you link the procedure to an output, but where in inventory will the batch determination be entered?
Cheers
