Open storage strategy with addition to stock in WM

Dear expert,

My storage type is configured as follows:

Storage Unit management active

Putaway Strategy: C Open Storage

Addition to stock: M via Material

My material is ticked to allow addition to stock.

I have several bins in my Storage type with same settings (storage section, bin type).

When I create a TO in foreground, the system proposes me to go to the first bin, which contains a different material than this one from the TO.

It does not propose to go to another bin in that storage type which contains the same material. But this is what I want.

Could you please help?

When I create a TO in foreground, the system proposes me to go to the first bin, which contains a different material than this one from the TO.

I don't think this is possible. The TO should be proposing a specific quant to pick, with the correct material (and batch, special stock, etc)... so I don't see how this is happening. That first bin must have the material that you are requesting. If this is really the case, can you post a screen shot that shows the Source proposal on the TO and information on the quant, and how you think it does not exist in that bin?

system will propose the second bin only when first is completed full with Putaway Strategy: C Open Storage you will have unlimited capacity for the first bin hence everytime system will propose the same bin

For open storage you should not set up more than one bin per storage type and section. See Strategy C: Open Storage - Warehouse Management System (WMS) - SAP Library
