End of Life for 7.4 BEx Web and 7.4 WAD in 2020?

Hi -

While reviewing availability matrix (PAM) for BW components, I came across note 1648480. I noticed that for NW 7.4, ABAP stack is supported through 2025 but JAVA stack is supported through 2020 only. Since BEx Web and WAD use the JAVA stack, does that mean BEx Web and WAD 7.4 are going away by 2020? Also, I have not yet been able find additional information related to extended support for JAVA stack. Although we are in the process of moving away from BEx but 2020 as and end date for BEx Web and WAD ups our timeframe.

Would highly appreciate the experts weighing in on this.

Its a different topic the word "support" with product End of Life

SAP commits to support of its NW 7.5 based on Java 8 until the date that Oracle has commmited its support to Java 8 platform, right now its 2022.

Coming closer to date, you might see extended support of your NW 7.5 platform if there is an upgrade of the java version, but this is only a theory

Now, Bex and WAD support will be based on the product itself, you can check notes such as;

1322923 - Maintenance strategy / deadlines BW Business Explorer (BEx)

SAP has been advising customers for some time that BEx 7.x is supported in BW 7.5x but NOT with BW/4HANA. So they recommend to use SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio, Lumira and Analysis Office, who have similar functionality as BEx 7.x
