Import support desk messages

Hi all,

Is there a possibility to Import service desk messages from one solution manager 7.0 to another solution manager 7.0?

What we require is to import all service desk messages from live solution manager 7.0 (patch level 1) to newly installed solution manager 7.0 EHP1.

Upgrading the previous system is one option, but is there any feature provided to import data?

Dear Nayab,

There is no out of the box functionality available to migrate/transfer incidents from one SolMan to another.

Please review this option:

- Messages from 4.0 system could be made available as a full text search via TREX. The TREX can be linked to your SolMan 7.0 EhP1.

- The full text search is offered as a consulting solution by the Walldorf based company Oxando. They offer a full package for a reasonable fixed price.

Another option could be :

there is a possibility to set up a connection between an external service desk and the Solution Manager system.

If you would like to set up this connection, please read the documentation in the Implementation Guide of the Solution Manager system to be reached by using the ta SPRO:

SAP Solution Manager System

- Scenario-Specific Settings

Service Desk

Connecting an External Service Desk

Furthermore you can find information concerning this issue in notes no. 962383 and 529754, and also by using the link

http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager > Functions in Detail >

Support Area > Message Handling Process > Interface between Service

Desk and a Third Party Call Tracking System

In this case the Third party system will be one of your Solution Manager system.

Hope that the options help.

Regards

Amit
