hello SAP Gurus,

What is the difference between 501 mvmt & 561 mvmt. when to use 501 or 561 mvmt.

Hi,

561 is used for Initial entry of stock - unrestricted-use stock

During initial entry of stock balances, when the R/3 system is active, you enter the physical warehouse stock figures or the book inventory from your old system into the R/3 Materials Management component. This data entry usually takes place by means of batch input.Possible special stock indicators:

E, K, M, O, Q, V, W

501 is used for Goods receipt without purchase order - unrestricted-use stock

This movement type is used for deliveries from vendors that are not based on a purchase order. Invoice verification is not possible for these goods receipts.

General modification key is used for 561 & 501 are:

BSA-----> for 561 movement type

ZOB----

> for 501 movement type

Dear Dev,

for Mvt 501 system will not ask the value of the material and sytem will take the value from the material master and stock & value updated with the price strategy ( MAP or STANDARD ),

for mvt 561 we need to give the value at the time of transaction,

501 - Goods reciept wrt Purchase order .you can post goods recipet for materials for which there exists no Purchase order.

561 This movement type is used intially- when you are uploading the stock .In production client this movement will not be allowed for further transaction. Intial upload

Dear,

Mvt 501 is used only when you are doing Goods Receipt without Purchase order,

E.g. Client wants to receive some small items for which he doesn't want to create PO, then in that case he will do the GRN without PO with MVT 501.

Mvt 561 is used only for Intial stock entry.

Mvt 501 is used to receive the material with out PO.This external stock

MVt 561 is used when you implement SAP ,to take legacy stock into sap.Once we moved this stock we have to lock G/L account to avoid further postings.(This is our stock)

GRN with 501 the system takes the value in the material master and post the entries,
