I just installed the 60-day trial of Crystal Reports 2008 V1 and Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1. Crystal Reports works fine, and I can access the CMC of Crystal Reports Server.
But I'm getting an error when I try to save one of my crystal reports to the Crystal Reports Server. The dialog is saying, "File Repository Server error : Failed to communicate with server Input. Server is down or disabled."
I have tried stopping and restarting the InputFileRepository server to no avail.
What's going on? Is there some limitation to the trial versions of these products.
HI
did install the CR Designer and the CR Server on separate machines? If yes can you please check if a firewall is activated on any of those machines?

Stratos

Both Crystal Reports and Crystal Reports Server are installed on the same machine. It is a Windows 2003 server x64, service pack 2. There is no firewall running on this machine.
I am able to connect to the InputFileRepository server using netcat from a completely different machine, so I am sure it is not a firewall issue.
What else can I do to troubleshoot the issue? Are there any logs I can look at? If I use something like Wireshark, will I get any sort of meaningful packet trace?
I am completely stumped as to what is going on. I wish things on Windows were as easy to fix as things on Linux 😕
