Grouping in Crystal Report

Dear all,

Base on the below situation:

1. I create an UDF in SBO8.8, type alphanumeric(10)

2. In Crystal Report, the UDF data type will convert to memo

Question:

1. I cannot group by the memo type field

2. I cannot use the memo type field to as a parameter

Is there any way to convert the field type in stand of using SQL?
