Hi all,
I have trying to upgrade from BOXI R2 to 3.1SP2 and have met with several challenges which have finally stumped me...
first I upgraded from BO XI R2 SP2 to BO XI 3.1, allowing install to migrate to the new CMS database
Install went smoothly (albeit slowly) and outcome was 85% satisfactory; issues were
1. Some special universe object lovs do not refresh in prompts
2. Error viewing the details when click on 'recurring' in the history of a job which was scheduled prior to upgrade.
3. Historic report instances loose their run date and show the upgrade installation date instead
4. Problem with locale caused some scheduled jobs to fail as interpreting date incorrectly. i.e. 31/12 as mm/dd caused failure
I then upgraded to XI 3.1 SP 2. This corrected point 2 and point 4 above but introduced a new problem
5. Cannot edit documents in infoview on the client. Editing on server is working. The symptom of the problem is that when I click on edit or modify a webi report the following message appears: An error has occurred:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
During the SP2 upgrade I had a problem with the 'automatically deploy web apps' and ended up choosing 'I will re-deploy the web apps after installation'. Has this caused a problem with editing from client?
I then applied final available patch. This update went smoothly however it has not changed status of issues.
The configuration now is:
Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition Service Pack 2
IIS V6.0
Business Objects Enterprise .NET version 12.2.1.412
MS SQL Server 2005
Server is running Java 6 update 17 and client is running java 6 update 3
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated,
regards,
Pauline
