Hi,
From my own tests and after reading numerous forum threads I have concluded that you cannot retrieve the LOV of a Crystal Report dynamic prompt stored in BusinessObjects Enteprise XI 3.x.
The explanation given by BO experts for this omission is that dynamic prompt LOVs are implemented as Business Views when Crystal Reports are uploaded to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.x. As there is no support for Business Views from any SDK then there is no way to populate the LOV of the prompt.
Although the SDKs donu2019t support dynamic prompt LOVs, the InfoView web interface to BusinessObjects Enteprise does support dynamic parameters. When you View a Crystal Report in InfoView you are presented with a drop-down list of values for a dynamic prompt. My question is how does InfoView implement this feature? Is there an undocumented SDK for Business Views or Crystal Report parameter attributes?
This feature omission seems to be frustrating many developers and hopefully will be implemented in the near future. Here are some related threads from other developers with the same issue. However the question remains as to how InfoView can implement this feature when SDK developers cannot?
