Hi,

which kind of web server do you use for your BO installation? Which OS (Windows, Unix, 32bit , 64 bit) does your BO server run on? Do you try to publish your report in the CR Designer?

Hi,

the path in the error message states that you are using version 11 of CR (...\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11\...) which would be CR XI Rel.1

i`m not quite sure if you can publish reports from CR XI Rel.1 into a XI 3.1 system.

Did this every worked ?

Hello Sebastian:

Yes this used to work without any problems earlier. I am not sure why it stopped working and what to look for . we are using crystal reports 2008. (CR Developer version 12.2.0.290).

Thanks

Hi,

I assume you get the error when you try to save your report from your CR designer into the BO repository. Did you build this report from the scratch using the CR Designer 2008? Did you install anything on the machine (eg. other BO products ) just before the problem started to appear.

Regards,

Stratos

Hi,

when you are using CR 2008 then you need to use XI 3.1 on the BusinessObjects Enterprise or BusinessObjects Edge release.

Hi Stratos:

No i have not installed any new BO products, but i did get a message when i tried to view a report early last week via the CMC .

An unexpected error has occurred. The exception originally thrown was: Unable to find servers in CMS ukcrcapp02.peterstow.local:6400 and cluster @ukcrcapp02.peterstow.local:6400 with kind fileserver and service FileStoreV2. All such servers could be down or disabled by the administrator. (FWM 01014)

I got past this issue by restarting all the services on the server. I am not sure if this has impacted the publishing in any way .

PS: All i am trying to do is publish a standard best practise report without any changes.

Thanks

Parmesh

Hi,

to me this sounds there is some kind of mixmatch with versions. the Enterprise11 in the patch - that is release XI ... not XI 3.1

hello there,

same problem.

When saving an CR Report to the BOE XI 3.1 Server i get the same error message which Parmesh posted.

Saving a Report without any Dynamic Parameter works fine but when adding an dynamic parameter CR shows up the error message.

I am using CR 2008 SP 2 Fixpack 2.2. and BOE XI 3.1 Server SP2 Fixpack 2.2

5 days ago i installed the BOEXI Client Tools. Could this be the Problem?

UPDATE

ok... seems not to be a problem with the client tools.... i tried same procedure on another client which has not installed the client tools and got the same error.

I've installed last friday the Fixpack 2.2. on our server and it could be possible that since then the error appears.

Hi TFragner,

pretty sure it is not the same problem as you are talking about XI 3.1 and this entry is about XI r2. would suggest you create a new entry for your problem

We are getting the same problem.

We have designed a standard page header (with our logo and report title field in it), which we want in all reports. The idea being that when the logo changes (with the start of the new Auckland Council, we can simply change the logo in the one sub-report and it will appear in all reports using this.

Problem however is that when we check the box re-import when opening, and go to save the report, it errors

The message says

Crystal report plugin - Add Report has encountered a problem and needs to close.

We then click Close to this message and wait and get another message

Error with Business Objects Enterprise - Failed to read data from report file C:\Temp\~crw{E072842C-1DAF-4683-BC02-964CA293C1323}.rpt. Reason: Unable to launch C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Business Objects 12.0\win32_x86\ReportAdd program to add report to the system. <OK>

To which we click <OK>

Are you saving the report directly to BusinessObjects Enterprise ? If so I would suggest you post your question into the BusinessObjects enterprise forum.
