Compact Hierarchy Display in Webi

Hello,

We saw the option of using compact hierarchy display in SAP Design Studio, just wondering if we have any way of displaying the same in Webi using compact hierarchy display.

For ex : If we have Region Hierarchy and then two dimensions product type and product size, in Design Studio when we use compact hierarchy display we see it this way,

where as in Webi region hierarchy and product type are different columns

Like this

Region Hierarcy | Product Type |

Though in Design Studio after using compact hierarchy its this way

+Region Hierarchy

+Product Type

Best way would be to use the blog that Amit suggested. One other way I would opt is to use Drill feature in Webi, dont know how beneficial it would be in your scenario.

If you didn't mention the Region Hierarchy, I would also recommend the technique Amit has mentioned, but your task seems a bit harder - you need to mix hierarchy with other dimensions, and I doubt the mentioned technique will work in this case.

Still, in WebI you have the option of setting these columns to sections and then carefully formatting the sections as if it was a single table. Not so easy to configure as in Design Studio, and usability is not so good, but at least it will look compact.
