OSoftTask* Dll's for SSIS

Hi All,

I am attempting to get the outlooksoft dll's to install for use in SSIS packages. Following the Outlooksoft 5 SSIS Packages installation document. The install seems straight foward, copy the dll's into DTS/TASKS, then open bids. When I do this, the tasks don't have the right icons, and if you try to use them, you get an error saying:

Failed to create the task.

Cannot create a task with the name "OSoft.Servces.Application.DataMgr.Task.SSISAdmin, OSoftTaskAdmin Version=4.2.0.400, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=xxxxxxxx". Verify the name is correct. (package).

This is using SQL 2005 BIDS version 2.0.50727 SP2

Outlooksoft 5.1 on Windows 2003

I saw a couple of posts on this type of error message where copying the files manually into c:\windows\assembly and restarting integration services resolved for some people, but nothing has worked for me.

Any other information that would help? Any thoughts appreciated -

Edward

    Edward,

You need to run BIDS at BPC App server to edit SSIS package because BPC tasks needs some other BPC Dll that is installed in Application server.

if you read that docuemnt, you will see that document assume you are working at application server.

There are two other possible issues.

    1. You don't have same authority as Integration Services running account

    2. Try to restart SSIS service. This is a known issue of SSIS.

I am not sure your version but you also might need to upgrade latest SP of SQL server.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

As expressed by the expert here. You need to create or open the pacage (with BPC tasks) in the BPC App server. If you do it in any other server then you will get this error.

Try to create or open the packages in the BPC App server. Let us know if you still face any issues. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Badrish

This functionality works fine on the app server, but I wanted to verify that it's not 'supposed' to work anywhere else.
