Do I need to buy License from Microsoft to install and use SAP software?

Hi all,

I always download SQL from the SAP portal prior to installing SAP Business Suite / SAP NetWeaver systems. Does this mean I do not need to buy any license from Microsoft because they are included in the SAP product or does the fact that I download them from the SAP portal has nothing to do with the licensing issue ?

Hi,

you can only download the SQL Server binaries from the SAP Marketplace if you bought the SQL Server from SAP in the past as part of one of your products. SAP is a retailer of SQL Server and so offers the software as part of their software packages. If you only have a Microsoft license you will not be able to see and to download the SQL Server binaries.
