Hi,

The user working on webi reports complains that it is too slow.
The web when run in HTML is slow and when run in java it is faster.

In HTML it is slower to make any small changes.

Please can you help me in the problem for this behavior and also any resolution for the same.

Thank you very much

Questions:

  1. Is there only one user reporting this issue? Or multiple?
  2. If only one user, is it only one of their reports they are having issues with or multiple reports?
  3. What is the size of the said report(s)?
  4. What is the number of rows in said report(s)?
  5. What is the number of tabs in said report(s)?

(Java applet will naturally always be faster, btw.)

It looks like you've already deducted that this is only a problem in large complex reports.

Have you tried increasing available RAM on the host(s) and expanding xmx settings in CMC servers to see if that improves performance of these reports while using the HTML editor?

I presume your APS's are split?

The slowness occurs only in Design view of the report.

Sounds like there's opportinuty to review how you have your APS split and the amount of memory assigned to each of them.

Also, review your cache settings for the WIPS? See 1291966
