Steps and Risk on transporting active planning area to production system

Hi SAP APO experts,

I will need to create new key figure and add this to our existing SNP planning area. This planning area is already active in production system and is currently being used by the system. I havent done this before but these are the steps I have in mind:

a. I will create new key figure in Administrator work bench (RSA1)

b. I am also thinking of creating new non-SAP ATP category for this new KF

c. Change our planning area by adding this new KF using this new ATP category. (will use time-series KF)

d. Create transport for the new category and planning area by ticking only planning area field (not including any items below u201CPlanning Object Structure is transported with Planning Areau201D) in transaction /n/SAPAPO/TSOBJ

e. Deactivate planning area in target system and run planning area de-initialization ( my understanding is that this will delete only time series orders so we should be okay since I can just rerun macros to recompute for these time series. Order series will not be deleted.

f. Move transports to target system

g. Re-initialize planning area and rerun macros to recompute for time series data.

I hope you can let me know in case I am wrong in any item or if I am missing any steps. THis is my first time to transport active plannign area and I want to make sure that I will not delete any data, CVCs, etc in production. Thanks.
