Access XS Classic from XSA HDI Container

Hi Experts,

Was any one able to resolve this issue, as i see similar issue posted here (@Klaus Freyburger, Dirk Raschke)? Could anyone help me in Understanding what’s actually missing over here?

Scenario: Accessing Classic Schema from another XSA System.

We have a ERP System(System A) which is running on HANA ~SP12. Now we have Another ERP System Which is running on HANA2.0 SP03(System B). Now we are trying to establish an connection from “System B” to “System A” to access data from “System A” as explained by Lucia Subatin in one of her blog. We referred Thomas Jung earlier blogs along with standard Reference document, But we were unsuccessful in establishing the connection we are getting the below error while trying to activate .hdbgrant file to grant permission.

Note: Both the system are hosted on different Server.

Source System Details:

Folder Structure:

.hdbgrant

Error

So what am I missing here?? The user(GBANGALO) used here is the owner of the schema. What else is required here to resolve this issue?

(Info: I Understood that I don’t required to have an explicit CUPS service as we are running on SP03, Hence not created)

Alternatively as to debug, I tried adding the system in Data Base Explorer, and what i noticed here is, I am not able to add the system if I Enable this Check Box,

And if I unchecked this Checkbox I am able to add the system on DB Explorer and can fire the queries.

Any help or any Leads is appreciated.

Thanks, and Have a Good Day…!

I think you misunderstand this functionality. It doesn't work across systems or even tenants. HDBGRANTS and Synonyms are only for access between containers/schemas on a single system/tenant. To access objects in other systems you should look at the SDI/SDA functionality and Virtual Tables.

Hello Thomas Jung

Thanks for Clarification, It helped a lot. Tried Cross Container and it works as required.

Happy Day..
