Are you sure about that version? I believe after 2.4 SP3, SAP moved to version 2.5... Anyways, it's an "ancient" version, so you should consider upgrading to 2.7 SP2.
A BEx query is what we (old school people) call a query (which is used as a basis for reports), so in your case it would probably be what you refer to as "BW report".

Hello Community,
I experienced the same issue:
Product Versions
The only workaround I found was to close the Excel (down to kill the thread) and restar fresh... hoping all would be good in the new navigation.... ideally not the best outcome.

Hello,
The Analysis Office is 2.4 SP1.2 (I forgot to put the "." in my previous comment). Can be an ancient but unfortunately this is the one that we can use for time being and we don`t have possibility for update :(..
Thank you,
Have a nice day!

Hello,
Thank you for your fast reply. Yes I am using Excel 2016, the version / SP of Analysis Office is 2.4 SP12 EN. Honestly speaking I don`t know how to answer to your question in which regards BEx query, but what I can tell you, is that I am trying to extract data using a technical name of a BW report. If you need any other information, please let me know.
Have a nice day!
