Hi BPC experts,
Can somebody share with me the implementation experience of SAP BPC using SAP BPC Netweaver 7.0 version.
Are there any, integration issues with SAP BW ,what was the level of customization that was required with SAP BW, performance issues encountered if any etc.?
We are planning to implement SAP BPC netweaver 7.0 version. Would like to weigh the options of going in for 7.0 NW version or wait for the upcoming 7.5 NW version.
What are the new capabiltiies of 7.5 NW version compared with 7.0 NW version?
Can you please share your expereince and valuable thoughts.
Regards,
Manesh
Hi,
Below are some limitiations in BPC 7.0NW which may be addressed in BPC 7.5NW
1) Business Process Flows are not in the NW 7.0 but may be in
the 7.5 release.
2) The DHE (Dynamic Hierarchy Editor) is not currently available to Business Planning and
Consolidation NW 7.0 customers but will be in 7.5.
3) Retraction of Data from BPC Infoproviders into SAP R/3 application
4) Usage of BI front end tools for BPC data reporting
5) Integration with NW-BI security design
6) Dashboarding

Hi,
from integratio perspective:
enhancements 7.5 versus 7.0
- loading of master data: not possible to load directly from BW into BPC AND triggered from BPC itself in 7.0. will be available in 7.5. In 7.0 master data is loaded from BW using BW tools (so triggered from BW).
- transactional data: 7.0 loading BW into BPC and triggered from BPC: selection via transformation file and only one value possible per dimension (for example loading of 2009.JAN and 2009.FEB has to be done in two steps). This limitation will be eliminated in 7.5.
- integration with BOBJ in 7.5
Furter I'd like to comment on the previous post:
3) Retraction of Data from BPC Infoproviders into SAP R/3 application -> is possible via BW itself. No differences between 7.0 and 7.5 What will be different is the drill-through functionality to perform a drill through from BPC to another data source (is not the same as retraction)
5) Integration with NW-BI security design -> not possible in 7.5 as well according to my info!
Conclusion: I would not necessary wait until 7.5 comes out. Of course you will have new enhancements like business process flows and standard master data integration, but there are workarounds possible in 7.0 as well. If you have to go lvie in 2011 for example I would not wait and start. One can upgrade later on ...
