Experts:

When I configure an SSO between ABAP and JAVA (EP), I find out that no matter I use port 8100

or 8000, I can get the same result -- SSO configured successfully.

Why? Please help explain. Thanks!

You can find more information on these ports in attached document.

Hi

As per SAP Standards

Port 8000 is default for ICM HTTP

Port 8100 is default for Message Server HTTP

Thus, to answer your query, ICM basically plays a roll of meadiater (just using this word for your understand and ofcourse ICM plays a big roll then just this) between client request and Messages Server of your SAP Instance. Therefore, you use either ICM port or directly user your Message Server port no matters....you are connect to Messages Server of your EP.

I hope this clarifyies your query.
