Valuation Class

Dear All,

Here i have a little confusion regarding this valuation class. How i can finalize the valuation classes required ? How can i come to conclusion that i need to create these many val classes for my client ? What are the things i need to consider before finalizing the val classes required for my client ?

This is an activity which you have to do in conjuction with the FI guy. Find out how many material G/L accounts the client is maintaining originally and and how many they wish to maintain in SAP? As the basic function of Valuation class is to have a separate lien of G/L posting as per usage. SO first finalise with client and then sit with your FI guy and draw a chart of all the material types being used and under that again further subdivide how many posting lines is requires for each material type based upon that you can decide how mnay valuation classes you can have. You can suggest also if you feel that additional valuation class can have a better effct over postings .
