We have two PO document type, RLBP & RLPM. Whenever order is created in RLBP & released, if user wants to change the PO, system ask to get the PO block & allow us to change. And if PO is created with RLPM, after release also system allows user to change the PO without asking to Block. This is how system is configured.
During migration few PO were wrongly migrated to RLBP instead of RLPM due to which system is not allowing us to change the PO once it is released. It is asking to block the PO first.
As these orders are of very very high value & bank guarantees are also issued, we cann't change the order no. & also users have objection to go to higher authorities for release.
To tackle this issue, to change the document type from RLBP to RLPM, we created another document type RLPP with same no. range & assigned the same release procedure as of RLPM. This way system allowed us to change the document type of PO to RLPP from RLBP & released strategy worked as per our requirement. But system allowed us to change the document type of POs where there is material & doesn't allowing us to change the document type where there is pure service or combination of material & service (coming as grey ).
Can somebody guide us why system is allowing us to change the document type of only material PO & not for service and what settings we should look for so that it allows to change the document type for service PO.
