Versions of budgeting

hi,

is it possible to maintain versions for project budgeting.

also to keep one version active at a time. need to compare the actual / budgeted value for any versions at any time.

can we get profitibility report for project.

Dear shailesh kumar,

Here u should understand one point clear, Y SAP Provided Version for Plannitn and Not for Budgeting. Planning u have so many predections & so many options, that is the reason here Version is required for De[endiencies. But the Budget is after discussion with the higher ups then only u can avail a fugure for that. That is the resason u dont have version for Budget.

Hi,

For cost planning you can create various CO Versions and can plan costs in various CO Versions but for budgeting there is no option of versions in Budgeting.But you track the original budget vs supplements .

Hi,

I think that SAP Best Practice is to use Planned Costs first and save several planned versions. After your budget is fixed, you enter it and release - partially or in total. If changes to budget are done, you use the transfer transactions. You can then compare in reporting the planned costs versus budget.

Hi,

There are no versions for Budgeting. But as mentioned you can maintain different cost versions. For copying a specific cost version to Budget you can use tcode IMCCP3.

Hi,

As far as i know we cannot maintain versions for budgeting. You can have versions for cost planning infact. Lets wait for experts to comment on this.

Yes you can get profitability report for project. Maybe you need to work alongside your FI/Co guy to get this thing done.
