selection screen customization

Hello,

We have a query in our bw production system that has many variables on the selection screen. I am wondering if there is a way to customize this for a particular user. For example, the selection screen by default has Site, Article, Cal Day, Category, POS Dept, as defined in the query definition. Can I customize by user, so a particular user only sees Site & Article on the selection screen?

We are on BW7.

Hi,

You can customize the selection of variables by creating a variant through variable screen.

Select the values for the variable in the variable screen and Save it as a Local variant.This will be visible only for that user and not for all.If you create a global variant,then this would be visible for all the user.

In your case,create a local variant with the required variables and then proceed.

R u using web templates? if yes, I think you can achieve this by some JAVA scripts in your web template. Not very sure, havent done that before, but just a thought.
