What is the purpose of creating license?

In VX01 we will create the licenses.

If Business having a scenario ,where license is required for a list of materials in Export scenario, then we have to maintain all these materials here.

Step 1 : Maintain the various licenses required for a material in MM01/02.

Step 2 : Maintain the licenses record in Vx01N for the licenses types with combination of material. Its like a condition record we can activate, extend or Expire the licenses here.

While creating the order with the license required materials, system will check the valid license exists or not and its with in the validity period or not.

It means license is a permission given by govt to the vendor to export the particular item(s) to a particular country for a specified duration. Am I concluding correctly?

Yes, On regular basis Business has to setup new licenses and validate the existing licenses.
