Hi,

Will the moving average price be influenced by the delivery costs incurred. It will be helpful if anyone could explain me with an example.

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, the delivery costs will afect the new moving average price (MAP).

For example, you have a material in stock with the folllowing values:

Units 10

MAP 5 eur

you enter 4 new units from this material with the following costs:

price: 10 eur

delivery costs: 2 eur

so the new MAP will be calculated as follows:

10 + 2 = 12

(12x4 + 10x5)/14 = 7 eur

MAP= 7 eur.

I hope this information helps you.

Best Regards,

Hi,

MAP is affected by delivery codts. There are two scenariosDelivery costs can be planned or unplanned.

For example : material : AAF10:

Quanity in stock : 50

Good reciept for p.o. of 50 pieces @10euro inclusive of planned delivery costs

MAP in material master is : 5 eur

MAP new = (505) +(5010) / 100

= 7.5 euro.

MAP = Total value / Total quantity

While doing it with unplanned delivery costs the moving average price is not affected by delivery costs but only by purchase order price , as unplanned delivery costs gets posted to seperate G/L accounts.

Hi,

In standard SAP process of inward Cost will consist of the following posting:

1. GR posting

DR Inventory $1000

CR GR/IR Inventory $ 900

CR GR/IR Inward Cost $ 100

2. Goods Invoice

DR GR/IR Inventory $ 900

CR Vendor AP $900

3. Delivery Cost Invoice

DR GR/IR Inward Cost $ 100

CR Transport Vendor $ 100

From the above journal you can see the inward cost is incurred upon GR posting.

Cheers,

Girang

It all depends upon how you have used the condition type..

if it is loaded on material then it will influence the MAP..
