MSA Upgrade: Unit EnvAnaylser: do I need this ?

Hello experts,

I want to generate a mup-file in order to upgrade msa field laptops from 5.0 sp11 to 5.0 sp15.

I've seen in docu that there is a unit EnvAnaylser which is used for the upgrade file.

But do I need this ? Whats is this unit doing ? Must I do some steps before in order

use this unit ?
