Asset Class as Chart of Dependent

Hello Sap Experts

we have a requirements where business user want that we should convert an existing nd already being in used asset class to convert into CHART OF DEPRECIATION DEPENDENT

we can do it in t.code ANK1 but we are not sure whether it would have any impact.

So kindly suggest whether there would be any impact of doing so. Thanks

Hi,

Yes, you can acheive this with ANK1.

It only make sense, only if you want to assign different screen layout rule and account determination for an asset class to an chart of depreciation.

Usually those will be defined at asset class level only--Chart of depreciation independent.

So if you make those changes in ANK1, that rules will work as chart of depreciation dependent.

thanks for reply. actually this asset class is being used for manny COD & for one of the chart of account, business user want to convert it to Chart of depreciaiton dependent

but since this asset class is already being in used, so we just want to ensure that if we convert it as COD dependent, it should not impact anything

Hi,

Obviously it will not have any impact on assets in the other chart of depreciations.

Please go a head in your QAS client and check the impact.
